Simply Servants

Social responsibility starts with YOU!

The Henry County YMCA includes people from all walks of life coming together to support each other and strengthen the community. With this in mind, the YMCA created the Simply Servants Club. Simply Servants will empower girls aged 8-12 to make a positive impact on their community.

Inspired by Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 20:16, “So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last,” Simply Servants will be dedicated to fostering community involvement and social responsibility.

Simply Servants will be led by YMCA Instructor, Lacy Tutrow. This club will meet twice a month, with times and locations varying based on the chosen service project.

Simply Servants is a free club that is open to both YMCA members and non-members. Participants can join at any time and will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of hands-on community service activities.

“I believe in the power of sharing my faith and inspiring young girls to serve others,” shared Tutrow. “Through Simply Servants, we hope to instill a life-long commitment to helping those in need while creating lasting friendships.”

Tutrow envisions Simply Servants as a platform for young girls to discover their potential and make a difference.

Tutrow shared, “Simply Servants will help participants see the value of helping others. I can’t wait to see all they accomplish through this program.”

The first meeting of Simply Servants was on September 3, with 10 girls in attendance. The next meeting of Simply Servants will be on Tuesday, September 17, 4:00 pm and new members are welcome to attend. Simply Servants will meet at Addison Place (2244 Q Avenue, New Castle, IN 47362). Release forms must be completed before participating in the activity. Parents must pick up and drop off the participants at Addison Place.
