Our school is a child–size world. The children thrive in this world which is created to fit his or her age, size, interests, and needs. The foundation of this world are experienced teachers whom help your child see themselves unique individuals. Through this approach your child will be equipped to organize their ideas and learn language, problem solving, active learning, social skills and organization tools that will make future classroom and school experiences positive and beneficial.

Hello, my name is April Burcham.  I am the Kinder & Scamper teacher.  This is my 8th year teaching at Henry County YMCA.  I live in New Castle with my husband, Zach, sons, Owen & Jackson, and our three cats.  I have worked with children for the last eleven years.  I recently graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with my Associates Degree in Early Child Development and am continuing my education at Ball State University.  As a preschool teacher, it is my desire to help your child have fun while learning in a positive and educational environment.  I also want his or her first experience in school to be a positive one.  I look forward to meeting you and your child.
