PRESCHOOL

The Henry County YMCA preschool is designed with your children in mind. We offer a child-sized world designed for your little ones to thrive. Our experienced teachers help your child see themselves as unique individuals.

Scamper Class (3 and 4 year olds)

Your child will acquire many cognitive, physical and social milestones in a relatively short amount of time.

Our teachers will help guide them through decision-making and activities that allow them to explore independently. This type of learning, coupled with hands-on activities, will help them build confidence using their own thoughts and words and ideas.

Kinder Class (4 and 5 year olds)

The Kinder program is the start of an exciting time for your almost “school-aged” kids. Our Kinder Preschool program focuses on behavior and social skills your child will need for kindergarten and throughout their K-12 school career. The curriculum includes arts and crafts, field trips, fine and gross motor skills and self help skills.

Our teachers prepare children for the academic challenges and environment they will encounter in Kindergarten and beyond by tailoring the curriculum and lessons to the child’s needs, encouraging meaningful learning experiences through play, and instilling a sense of responsibility, leadership, and independence.

Swim Lessons

Our preschool swim lessons provide the perfect environment where your child can learn the water, water safety and the importance of exercise. Lessons are designed to help kids feel safe around water and to experience different and fun ways it can be enjoyed.

The class are taught by a certified Life Guard/YMCA instructor, and teachers are onsite to help your child get ready to swim.

Registration for the 2024-25 school year will begin on April 1, 2024. Sign up for preschool by visiting the YMCA or contacting April Burcham at aburcham@henrycountyymca.org.
